As a flight attendant, I’ve often felt my eyes having trouble focusing, particularly during long flights or in varying climates. It can be quite unsettling when you’re trying to stay alert or enjoy the view! One major reason for this could be dryness caused by the recycled air in airplanes or extended screen time. Our eyes need moisture, and without it, they can have a hard time maintaining focus.
Fatigue is another factor to keep in mind. After long hours of work or travel, our eyes can become tired, making it difficult to see clearly. That’s why it’s important to take breaks to rest your eyes, especially when staring at screens or reading for extended periods. I’ve found that using lubricating eye drops can be really helpful during flights or late-night shifts.
Additionally, changes in lighting and distance can impact our vision. For example, moving from a bright airport to a dimly lit plane can require your eyes to adjust. If you’re experiencing persistent issues with your vision, it’s always wise to consult an eye care professional.
Have you faced similar vision challenges while traveling? What tips or products do you use to keep your eyes feeling comfortable? I’d love to hear your suggestions!
