Why Pores Appear Larger in Certain Lighting

Have you ever looked in the mirror and noticed that your pores seem more pronounced in certain types of lighting? You’re definitely not alone! Different light sources, like natural sunlight, fluorescent lights, or even the bright illumination from a ring light, can impact how our skin looks. In brighter conditions, shadows can accentuate pores, making them appear larger.

As someone with combination skin, I’ve experienced this firsthand, especially around my nose and forehead when I’m outside. It can be a bit disheartening, especially after putting in the effort with my skincare routine. I’ve found that using a cleansing balm followed by a gel cleanser helps keep my skin clear and reduces the appearance of pores, but lighting still plays a significant role.

The type of makeup you choose can also influence how your pores look throughout the day. Products with a matte finish can help minimize shine and make pores less noticeable. If you’re dealing with this issue, I’d love to hear your thoughts! What tips or products have you found effective in minimizing the appearance of your pores? How do you adjust your routine based on different lighting situations?
