Why Does My Sunscreen Pill When I Reapply?

I’ve been facing a bit of a challenge with my sunscreen lately. Whenever I reapply, especially on hot days or after sweating, I notice that the product tends to pill up on my skin. As someone with sensitive skin, it’s frustrating to see my sunscreen not working effectively.

From my research, it seems that pilling can happen for several reasons, including the formulation of the sunscreen, the quantity being applied, or even the method of application. Some ingredients might not layer well, particularly if too much product is used on top of what’s already there. I’ve found that switching to a lighter or gel-based sunscreen can help, but I’m curious about what others have experienced.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue? What products or techniques have you found helpful for reapplying sunscreen? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks for making sunscreen work better on sensitive skin!
