What are the best ways to choose the right skincare routine?

Choosing a skincare routine can feel overwhelming with so many products available. Given the variety of skin types and concerns, it’s important to find what truly works for you. Many people swear by a simple three-step process: cleanse, treat, and moisturize.

When selecting products, consider your skin type—whether it’s oily, dry, or sensitive. Ingredients play a big role too; for example, hyaluronic acid is great for hydration while salicylic acid can help with breakouts. Has anyone here found specific products that really made a difference? What routines have you tried that worked well or didn’t? Let’s share some experiences!

I find that sticking to a simple routine has worked best for me, especially with a lightweight gel moisturizer. I’ve also had a lot of success with niacinamide; it really helped with oil control. Has anyone tried incorporating oils into their routine? How did that go for you?

I’ve had great luck with CeraVe’s Hydrating Cleanser for my dry skin. It’s super gentle, and then I follow up with a simple vitamin C serum before moisturizing. Keeping it basic really made a difference for me!
