We’ve all experienced that moment when we apply a new moisturizer and it feels a bit greasy at first. This can be especially concerning for those of us with normal skin who are aiming for that perfect balance of hydration without excess shine. So, is a greasy feeling a deal-breaker? The answer might surprise you!
Many deeply hydrating moisturizers have a thicker consistency that can feel greasy upon application. This greasiness often comes from emollients and oils that work to lock in moisture. While it may feel uncomfortable initially, these ingredients can actually be beneficial for your skin over time. Just give it a moment; the product typically absorbs and leaves your skin feeling soft instead of slick.
However, if the greasy sensation doesn’t go away or if you’re experiencing breakouts, it might be time to reconsider your moisturizer. Personally, I prefer lightweight, watery formulas that absorb quickly without that heavy feeling. If you have sensitive eyes like I do, look for products that are non-comedogenic and free from irritating ingredients.
What about you? Have you tried any moisturizers that felt greasy at first but ended up working well for you? Or do you stick to lighter options? I’d love to know your experiences!
