Overnight Moisturizer: Leave It or Wipe It Off?

I’ve been reassessing my nighttime skincare routine recently, and a question keeps popping up: should we really leave moisturizer on our skin overnight? We all know how important hydration is, especially for those of us with dry skin. However, after applying a thick cream or even trying out slugging, I find myself wondering if my skin is actually absorbing it or if I’m overdoing it.

There are so many differing opinions on this topic. Some people advocate for letting the moisturizer soak in, while others warn that too much product can clog pores. Personally, I enjoy the feeling of a well-hydrated face as I drift off to sleep, but I’ve also dealt with breakouts after using heavier creams. It feels like a tricky balancing act, and I’m eager to find the best method for my skin type.

What do you all think? Do you prefer to leave your moisturizer on overnight, or do you wash it off? How do you determine what works best for your skin? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!
