Exfoliating can be a bit challenging, especially if you have oily or acne-prone skin like I do. I’ve found that the best time to exfoliate really hinges on my skin’s condition and the products I’m using. For me, exfoliating just once or twice a week does the trick without causing irritation. Overdoing it can lead to sensitivity, which we definitely want to avoid!
I usually opt for a gentle chemical exfoliator with salicylic acid on days when my skin feels congested or during hormonal breakouts. I like to do this at night so my skin can recover while I sleep. On days when I choose a physical exfoliator, I prefer to use it in the morning to refresh my skin and get a nice glow to start the day.
Don’t forget to follow up with a good moisturizer afterward since exfoliation can make our skin more sensitive. Hydration is essential! I’m curious to hear about your routines—how often do you exfoliate, and what methods work best for your skin? Have you noticed any improvements in your skin’s texture or issues with breakouts after adjusting your exfoliation schedule?
