Treating acne while maintaining a healthy skin barrier can be tricky, especially for those with dry or sensitive skin. I’ve been trying out some homemade face masks that not only help with breakouts but also nourish and hydrate the skin. One of my go-to recipes combines honey and oatmeal. Honey has natural antibacterial properties, which are great for acne, while oatmeal is incredibly soothing and helps reduce irritation.
Another favorite is a yogurt mask. The probiotics in yogurt can help rebalance your skin’s microbiome, and the lactic acid gently exfoliates, clearing out pores without causing dryness. Simply mix plain yogurt with a teaspoon of honey, apply it to your face, and leave it on for about 15 minutes before rinsing. Your skin will feel refreshed and hydrated afterward.
If you’re interested in adding an extra soothing element, consider incorporating a few drops of tea tree oil into your mask. Just make sure to dilute it first, as it can be quite strong. I’ve found that gentle, hydrating masks work wonders for my skin while targeting breakouts.
