My Healing Journey with PIE and PIH Marks

Hello, everyone! I wanted to take a moment to share my personal experience with post-inflammatory erythema (PIE) and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) marks. It’s been quite a journey, especially after I decided to stop the habit of picking at my skin. Breaking this habit was challenging, but I found that committing to healing felt incredibly rewarding.

After I stopped picking, I began to see noticeable fading of my marks within three to four months. I focused on maintaining a gentle skincare routine that included exfoliation and products enriched with niacinamide and vitamin C. Sun protection was also a top priority for me, as it’s essential for preventing further discoloration. Patience was key during this time; I had to remind myself that healing is a gradual process, and it’s important to be gentle with ourselves.

I’d love to hear about your experiences! How long did it take for your PIE or PIH marks to fade after you stopped picking? What skincare products or routines have worked for you? Let’s share our stories and support one another on this journey!
