Hi everyone! I wanted to take a moment to share my personal journey with post-inflammatory erythema (PIE) and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). After struggling with these skin issues for a long time, I made the decision to stop picking at my skin. It was a tough but necessary step that brought me both relief and new challenges.
I shifted to a gentler skincare routine, focusing on nourishing my skin rather than using harsh treatments like clay masks. I noticed that when I stopped picking, my PIE marks started to fade within a few weeks. It wasn’t an instant transformation, but the changes I made really helped my skin heal. Over the course of about three to four months, I saw significant lightening of the marks, although some stubborn areas took a bit longer to improve. Incorporating vitamin C serums and being consistent with sunscreen really made a difference for me, too.
I would love to hear about your experiences! How long did it take for your PIE and PIH marks to fade after you stopped picking? Were there any specific products or routines that helped speed up your healing process? Let’s share our stories and support each other on this journey!
