When trying out new skincare products, patch testing is essential! But where should you do this? For those of us with combination skin, it’s important to choose a location that mimics the areas where we’ll apply the product most often.
A good spot to start is the inner forearm. This area typically has skin that is similar in sensitivity and texture to our facial skin, making it a reliable testing ground. Simply apply a small amount of the product and wait 24 to 48 hours to check for any irritation. If you want to be extra cautious, testing on the jawline or behind the ear can also give you a good idea of how your skin might react.
Keep in mind that even if a product is labeled as gentle or suitable for sensitive skin, everyone’s skin is different. Just because one product worked well for you doesn’t mean another will too. Have you ever been surprised by a reaction to a product? What spots do you prefer for patch testing? Let’s share our experiences and tips!
