How to Use Tretinoin with Moisturizers Effectively

Hi everyone! I’ve been exploring my skincare routine lately, especially with managing my acne-prone skin. A common question that arises is whether it’s advisable to apply tretinoin after using a moisturizer. Many of us are eager to find the best way to layer our products without overwhelming our skin.

From what I’ve gathered through my own experience and some research, it seems that applying tretinoin after moisturizer might not yield the best results. Tretinoin is a retinoid that works effectively on clean, dry skin. Applying it over moisturizer could create a barrier that hinders its absorption. Personally, I prefer to apply tretinoin first, allowing it to penetrate my skin, and then follow up with a lightweight moisturizer to lock in hydration.

That being said, everyone’s skin is unique! If you struggle with dryness or irritation, applying a bit of moisturizer beforehand can help alleviate those issues. It’s all about finding what works best for your individual skin type. How do you incorporate tretinoin into your routine? Have you experimented with layering it alongside a moisturizer? I’d love to hear your experiences and tips!
