Hi everyone! I wanted to start a conversation about sunscreen and its shelf life after opening. It can definitely be a bit confusing with so many different products available. From what I’ve found, most sunscreens remain effective for about three years after you open them, but this can vary by brand and ingredients. Always check the packaging for specifics!
For those of us with acne-prone skin, using expired sunscreen can lead to breakouts and irritation, which is something to keep in mind. I usually opt for lightweight formulas that won’t clog my pores, and I make it a point to track when I start a new bottle. If you notice any odd smells, changes in texture, or color, it’s probably best to discard it. It’s always better to be safe than sorry!
