Does Sunscreen Help Keep Dark Spots from Darkening?

I’ve been diving into the world of sunscreens lately because I have combination skin and a lovely medium golden tone that can be prone to dark spots. One big question I have is whether sunscreen can truly prevent existing dark spots from becoming darker. As we move into the sunnier months, this is something many of us are concerned about.

From what I understand, while sunscreen is essential for protecting our skin from further UV damage, it may not completely stop existing dark spots from darkening. Broad-spectrum sunscreens are definitely a must, but they often work best when paired with other skincare products like serums or treatments specifically designed to target hyperpigmentation. It’s interesting how our skin responds differently to various products, and finding the right combination can be quite a journey!

I’ve been trying out some no-sting sunscreens and would love to share my thoughts on their textures and how they hold up under makeup. It’s all about finding something that not only protects but also feels great on the skin. Have any of you discovered a sunscreen that has helped with your dark spots? Or do you think it’s important to use additional products along with sunscreen for better results?
