Creating the perfect skincare routine really depends on your unique skin type and concerns. Personally, I’ve found that a routine with about five essential steps works well for me: cleansing, toning, treating, moisturizing, and of course, applying sunscreen. However, I know some people prefer a simpler regimen, while others enjoy a more elaborate one!
For my routine, I start with a cleansing balm to effectively remove makeup and impurities, followed by a gel cleanser for a thorough cleanse. This two-step cleansing method has helped me maintain a balanced complexion, especially since I have combination skin. Next, I use a toner to prep my skin for the products that follow. Depending on the day, I might incorporate a serum or treatment before moisturizing to address specific concerns.
And let’s not forget the importance of sunscreen! Protecting our skin from UV damage is essential, regardless of how many steps you include in your routine. Since I became more consistent with my skincare, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my skin’s health and appearance.
