Choosing Between Serum and Cream for Acne-Prone Skin

Hi everyone! I’ve been exploring skincare more thoroughly while managing my cystic acne, and I’ve been wondering about the benefits of serums versus creams for our skin type. Many of us have oily, acne-prone skin, making it challenging to find products that help without causing breakouts.

In my experience, serums are typically lighter and more concentrated, which means they can deliver essential active ingredients effectively without feeling heavy on the skin. They can be particularly helpful for addressing issues like acne and inflammation. Conversely, creams are thicker and often provide extra hydration, which is great if your skin feels dry from treatments, but that added weight can sometimes lead to breakouts for those of us with oily skin.

I’ve had some success using lightweight serums with ingredients like niacinamide and salicylic acid. I’m curious about your experiences too! Do you lean more towards serums or creams in your routine? Have you discovered any products that work exceptionally well for your skin? Let’s chat about it!
