Are We Seeing Too Many Similar Beauty Products?

Have you noticed how beauty brands often release countless versions of similar products? It seems like every time I visit a store, there’s yet another matte lipstick or tinted moisturizer to consider. As someone with oily skin, I’m always on the lookout for effective products, but it can be overwhelming to sift through what feels like the same items repackaged.

For example, how many sunscreens do we really need? I enjoy trying out sweat-resistant SPF sticks and gel sunscreens, especially since I spend a lot of time outdoors. However, it’s hard to stay excited when new products seem to offer little more than a familiar concept in a different container. It’s also frustrating when you finally find a product that works for you, only to see a new version claiming to be even better.

While I appreciate that brands are attempting to innovate, sometimes it feels like they’re just seeing what resonates with consumers. What do you all think? Do you feel there’s a lack of true innovation in beauty, or do you enjoy the variety? Are there any specific products you believe genuinely deserve the hype, despite the many similar options available?
